This week’s print features a model of a heart — specifically the anatomy of the left ventricular outflow tract. The model was printed in a special flexible material to resemble the pliable structure of the actual organ. Once it is assembled, the heart model will be used for prototyping a surgical device, in a project associated with Penn Health-Tech, Penn’s Center for Health, Devices and Technology.
