The Biomedical Library’s 3D printing lab is once again proud to feature prints associated with innovative research featured in Penn Today. This week’s featured prints are prototypes for testing fluidic experiments for kinematics analysis of origami models. Graduate students at Dr. Cynthia Sung’s laboratory in the department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science are exploring ways to design soft robots using origami models. As illustrated here, the Biomedical Library’s 3D printers can accommodate the flexible and clear material requirements for these prints.
