The Biomedical Library sponsored it’s annual Library Information Fair on August 12th for incoming first-year medical students. For the past several years the Fair has taken place in the Jordan Medical Education Center. This year, we returned to the recently reopened Stemmler side of the Biomedical Library. Newly refreshed, the space offers an open area for gatherings, group study rooms with computers and large monitors, and a relaxation room.
This year our Fair theme was National Parks. Starting at the “Trailhead,” students picked up their passport ready to visit a number of Parks to learn about our wide array of online resources and services. Along the way, students collected giveaways and handouts describing how the library and its librarians can help them while they learn at Penn.
At our final stop, “The End of the Trail,” students entered a drawing to win prizes such as a Fire Tablet, EndNote software, and gift cards.
We look forward to working with the new medical students throughout their time at the Perelman School of Medicine.
