Join us at 3 PM in the University of Pennsylvania’s Biomedical Library on February 20th, 2020, for what promises to be a fascinating presentation by Dr. Stephen Trzeciak who will be discussing his recent book, Compassionomics: the revolutionary scientific evidence that caring makes a difference. Dr. Trzeciak is a physician scientist, professor, Chair, and Chief of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Health Care in Camden NJ.

His 2019 book, co-authored with Cooper University Health Care President Anthony Mazzarelli and with a foreword by Senator Cory Booker, argues that compassion in health care is not only vital and meaningful but also measurable in ways which convincingly demonstrate values beyond the moral and ethical: compassion-infused health systems have better patient outcomes, support staff wellness, and affect the costs of health care.
The Biomedical Library’s Biomeditations Book Talks are informal, conversational presentations with scholars from Penn and beyond, and an opportunity to engage in dialogue with scholars and researchers in various fields.
