Flu season and the novel coronavirus remind us that every year, new contagious diseases are discovered with the potential for outbreaks to become public health crises. Indeed, Philadelphia was the birthplace of the 1976 Legionnaires Disease outbreak (see image and link above).
This month, the Biomedical Library’s Highlighted Collection features resources on epidemics, pandemics, historical plagues, and contagious disease outbreaks. The book display includes a variety of print and eBooks, the latter represented by their cover and a QR code for quick access. The display is located on the wall by the Information Desk as you enter the library. Please feel free to browse, check out, and access these titles.
