2020 Info Fair Guide

Biomedical Library staff held its first ever ‘remote’ Library Information Fair on August 12th for incoming first-year medical students!

Normally students are invited to the Biomedical Library for a fun-filled afternoon of conversation and hands-on demonstrations. This year, because of the pandemic, librarians and invited guests created brief videos to share important resources and services available through the online Penn Library system. Video topics included: Fast full-text access to E-resources, Poster/3D printing, Consultation Services, and Mobile Apps. Links to these and other videos are accessible on our 2020 Information Fair guide.

During the Fair, medical students were encouraged to sign-up to follow the Biomeditations Blog.  Those who did were automatically entered into a raffle.  The prize being a Dr. Fauci bobblehead!

In addition to pre-recorded videos, four live Zoom events were scheduled allowing new students to ask library staff questions about our services. While we would prefer to meet students in person, current events simply didn’t allow. We look forward to working with our new medical students [both remotely AND in person] throughout their time at the Perelman School of Medicine.
