Penn Libraries continues to explore more equitable and sustainable avenues for scholarly publishing. As such, we have entered into a Publish & Read agreement with the Microbiology Society. Beginning January 2023, UPenn corresponding authors will benefit from uncapped Open Access publishing without having to pay article-processing charges (APC’s). Read access will also be available to all content on the platform. The agreement will be across all the Society’s six journals including Microbiology, Journal of General Virology, Journal of Medical Microbiology, Microbial Genomics, International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology and Access Microbiology.

Any article published where the corresponding author is from UPenn will be OA with a CC BY license by default. Corresponding authors will be identified using their email address, so please use your upenn.edu address.
