Noah Boone joined the Penn Libraries’ Holman Biotech Commons this fall, working in the Judith & William Bollinger Digital Fabrication Lab. Noah is the Digital Fabrication Lab Operator, a new position in the lab, focused on researching and implementing new equipment in the lab.

Noah holds a BA in Computer Art with a minor in Paleontology and an AAS in Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Noah brings a combination of 3D/AR/VR/computer technology experience and passion for using creative technology for research and education.
Noah has been busy setting up the fabrication lab’s new 3D scanners, 3D printers, and laser cutter, and developing workflows for how they will be used in the lab. Below is an overview of the new systems rolling out later this year.
· 2 handheld 3D scanners, one of which will be available for checkout
· 2 DLP 3D printers, with a minimum layer height of 10 microns
· A laser cutter that can engrave and cut a variety of materials
These new services will be added to the lab’s website as they become available, so stay tuned!
